Event Format

Suzuki's Newton 24 & 8 Hours of Triathlon + Duathlon are continuous loop short course road triathlons with a 0.24 mile swim, 11.2 mile bike and 2.6 mile run, or duathlons with a 11.2 mile bike and 2.6 mile run. Athlete’s compete to cover the most number of laps in 8 hours or 24 hours in the swim - bike - run or bike - run format. The winning relay team/solo in each category is the one that covers the greatest number of legs/laps in the allotted time, and if there are relay teams/solos completing the same number of laps, then the fastest team/solo on their final lap is the winner. There is no night swimming. Check out the Race Rules & Regulations.

Packet Pick-up

Packet pick-up will be at Cherry Creek State Park, Race Site on Friday, August 29^th between 3:00pm and 7:00pm, at the Race Site  between 5:30am and 7:00am. Swimmers will be body marked at the timing RV between 5:30am and 7:00am on Saturday. You can download a Map of Cherry Creek State Park, and Directions form Crestwood Suites to Cherry Creek State Park (3.97 miles, 7 minutes.)

USAT Membership

You must bring a valid USA Triathlon card and show it at packet pick-up, or buy a one day license ($10) at registration or packet pick-up. Visit USA Triathlon to get your annual membership or to purchase a one day permit.

Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting

Everyone must attend the pre-race meeting at starting at 7:00am in the Start Area at the Cherry Creek State Park, Smoky Hill on Saturday, September 1^st. We will discuss important safety information at the meeting and field questions regarding the race course and rules.

Race Hotel Discount

The Crestwood Suites, Aurora is our official race hotel and we have arranged a special discount for competitors and support, valid 8.29.08 through 8.31.08. Please call the 303-481-0379 and reference "24 Hour" when booking. We have reserved a block of Queen Suites (sleep two) and a limited number of Queen/Queen Suites (sleep four). Both rooms and include a full bath and kitchen/dining area. You must book by July 29th, 2008.
