Volunteer

We are currently recruiting volunteers to join us at the 3rd annual 24 & 8 Hours of Triathlon.  This is a great way for you (or your club/organization/team) to take part in a truly unique event with out having to actually break a sweat! Shifts are generally 4 hours or less.

Packet Stuffing
Thursday August 28th
5:00 - 7:30 pm, Boulder

Help stuff the race goodie bags for all the athletes.

Race Expo Packet Pick up
Friday August 29th
3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
(need 4)
Assist with packet pickup at the race site, Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora on Friday, August 29th from 3-7pm.

 

Race Day Packet Pick-up
Saturday August 30th
5:00 am - 7:00 am
(need 4)
Assist with last minute packet pickups and chip timing hand outs.

Transition Area Set Up
Saturday August 30th
5:00 am - 7:00 am
(need 4)
Assist with the set up of the athlete village and transition areas at Cherry Creek Rez.  This job will require some lifting.

 

Body Marking
Saturday August 30th
5:00 am - 7:30 am

What could be more fun?  You get to draw on people with permanent markers!

 

Suzuki Shuttle Driver
Sat. 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Sat. 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Sun. 5:00 am - 9:00 am
(1 volunteer needed for each shift)
Pick up and transport other volunteers from the designated park n ride site to their volunteer venue.  Must have a valid CO driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Water Safety
Sat. 7:30 am - 11:30 am
Sat. 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
Sat. 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Sun. 6:00 am - 9:00 am

Kayaks
Sat. 7:30 am - 11:30 am
Sat. 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
Sat. 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Sun. 6:00 am - 9:00 am
(2 kayakers needed for each shift)
Kayaks are needed to be out on the water during the event, to watch for and assist tired swimmers.  If you own a kayak and are looking for a great day on the Rez, please sign up for a kayak shift today!

 

Transition & Timing Tables
Sat. 8:00 am - Noon

(3 volunteers needed for each shift)
Transition table volunteers will assist in documenting and recording athlete transitions for both solo athletes and team members.  Athletes check in at the transition table between each leg of their event.

Athlete Village Team
Sat. 8:00 - Noon
Sat. Noon - 4:00 pm
Sat. 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Sun. 6:00 am - 9:00 am
(1 volunteer needed for each shift)
Help out in the athlete lounge keeping the food and drink stations organized and the area clear of trash and clutter.  Assist with athlete needs.

 

Bike Course Marshals
Sat. 7:45 am - Noon (8)
Sat. Noon - 4:00 pm (8)
Sat. 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm (8)
Sat. 8:00 - Midnight (4)
Sun. Midnight - 4:00 am (4)
Sun. 4:00 am - 9:00 am (8)
(4 or 8 volunteers needed per shift)
Assist along the bike course as a marshal.  Your job will be to make sure cars and spectators do not jump out in front of the approaching racers and keep racers on track.


Clean-Up Sunday
9:00 am - 11:00 am

Help us out after the race, cleaning up the event.  We will be responsible for cleaning up the expo and transition area, athlete lounge, and putting away the race equipment and fencing.  This job may involve some lifting.

Pro for a Day Support Crew
(need 2)
Volunteer to take care of one woman and one man for the full 24 hours. Ideally this would be two people each Pro for the entire time. It's a big job and very rewarding.

Athlete Village Security
Sat. 9:00 pm - 1:00 am
Sun. 1:00 am - 5:00 am
(1 volunteer needed per shift)
Watch over the athlete Village at night.

 

Solo Participant Pit Crew (need a couple)
Several solo athletes have requested extra help in the form of a volunteer 'pit crew'. You would assist a solo participant for the full 24 hours.
